While at the moment electric cars are more expensive than petrol or diesel cars, as mentioned they are the future so this could be an investment worth making now. First of all, though you must consider your lifestyle and if an electric car is right for you. How long are your regular journeys? Would your car need charging on your way to work each morning? There Is a Great Selection

There are always new models of Electric cars appearing on the market and despite the pandemic 2020 saw an influx of new models from mainstream manufacturers, such as the Volkswagen ID 3, Honda E, and Vauxhall Corsa-e, as well as the first models from new brands, such as the Polestar 2.

There are many more models due in 2021 such as the Citroën e-C4, the Mercedes-Benz EQA, the Mercedes-Benz EQB, Mercedes-Benz EQV, and the Volvo XC40 Recharge P8 – and that’s just for January. So, it’s safe to say that there are plenty of electric cars out there and what’s more is that you don’t have to buy new either, there are plenty of used cars on the market too which could be an excellent way to introduce yourself to electric vehicles.

Electric Cars Are Affordable

There is still somewhat of a misconception that electric cars are too expensive and inaccessible for most people, but this is not the case. As more electric cars have been produced and they have become more commonplace, the technology needed to make them has become cheaper thus making electric cars cheaper to manufacture and therefore more affordable.

As well as this, the cost of actually running an electric car is cheaper than running a car on diesel or petrol as you don’t have to pay for the fuel and the maintenance costs are low because owning an electric car means you never have to go for oil changes, and there are far fewer parts that can fail and need replacing.

The Range Is Excellent

Today, many electric cars can drive for over 200 miles on a fully-charged battery. There are of course going to be front-runners such as Teslas which can go for over 300 miles or more per charging session.
