Ok so, Summer is officially over and many championships are winding up for the winter but there are still a few highlights to look forward to before the year is out.

We start down under, and Mount Panorama to be precise for the Bathurst 1,000. One of the biggest events in the Australian motorsport calendar. V8 Supercar regulars aside this event usually attracts top tin top and GT drivers from across the world with the likes of Andy Praiulx, Mattias Ekstrom, Ben Collins, Jason Plato and Matt Neal among the names to have entered in the past, with Indy Car and former F1 & LMS / WEC star Sebastian Bourdais making his mountain debut with Holden.

The action takes place on the weekend of the 8-11th October and can be seen on Motors TV, while Surfers Paradise hosts the following event a fortnight later.

So, as I said while many series are winding up there is one event getting underway this month as Formula E starts its second season in China, as it did in October ’14, with more power available to the drivers and the addition of ’97 F1 champion Jacques Villeneuve to the series FE is certainly going from strength to strength. As with 2014/15 ITV4 will bring live coverage to the UK fans. The date for your diary, October the 24th.

The BTCC rounds off its 2015 campaign with a trip to the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit on the week ending the 11th expect plenty of action, titles decided and, if previous years are anything to go by, rain. If you’re not taking in the action first hand as always ITV4 will bring you what you need.

If the big “enduro” in Australia isn’t enough then fear not, the WEC heads to Japan for the 6 hours of Fuji on the 11th, the LMS winds up a week later at Estoril, Portugual, while the Tudor USCCA finishes its season with the 10 Hour Petit Le Mans at Road America on the 3rd of the month.

Still want more? Well you are in luck. The Asian leg of the prototype series (Asian Le Mans series) gets underway for the 2015/16 season at Fuji 1 day before the WEC race. All the above should be available on Motors TV.

The Blancpain GT series also packs up for the winter following two sprint events at Misano (4th) and a week later at Zandvoort for the season finale. BT Sport and Motors TV should offer coverage here, while the DTM series rounds off its proceedings at Hockenheim on the weekend of the 17th and 18th, viewable via YouTube or BT Sport.

Fans of two wheeled action still have plenty to enjoy as both the British and World Superbike championships reach conclusion, with races at Magny-Cours and Losail (4th and 11th) in the World championship and Silverstone and Brands Hatch (4th and 17th/18th) for the domestic round.

The latter being a 3 race event with race 1 happening on the Saturday. Eurosport brings the action to your TV screen if you are not heading trackside.

Sticking with two wheels the Moto GP teams face a busy October with events in Japan, (11th) Australia, (18th) and Malaysia (25th). BT Sport and ITV4 bring the coverage.

Plenty else to keep you all entertained (if the above is not already enough!) with World Rally action in France (2nd-4th) and Spain (23rd-25th) via Motors TV, European action from Greece (9th-11th) and World Rallycross action from Turkey on the 2nd. Eurosport should keep you up to date with the latter.
