Citroen has unveiled an all-electric model of the Berlingo Multispace called the E-Berlingo.

The E-Berlingo still has the same practical space as the standard Berlingo as the battery packs are positioned in the subframe on each side of the rear axle.

E-Berlingo has a range of 106 miles which Citroen say is more than enough as most drivers drive less than 60 miles each day. The electric powertrain uses a high-performance permanent magnet synchronous motor and helps the E-Berlingo accelerate smoothly and quickly.

50% of the E-Berlingo’s range can be charged in 15 minutes or to 80% in 30 minutes from a rapid charge point. There’s also regenerative braking which helps to re-charge the batteries.

In total, the new E-Berlingo Multispace produces 67hp and has 200Nm of torque.

E-Berlingo Multispace comes with remote-controlled functions via a smartphone so the driver can choose to pre-heat or cool the van and even check on the battery levels.

No prices have been revealed but the E-Berlingo Multispace will go on sale during Q3 2017.
