A few days ago we had a lucky go in the 2015 Nissan 370Z NISMO. This is the newly revised NISMO model that was announced about a week after we reviewed the current model!
As you can see the visual changes over the outgoing model are like night and day.
I wasn’t at all keen on the first gen 370Z NISMO’s looks, they changed what has always appeared to be a mean, muscular looking car into an extended swoopy, sweeping affair.
It may work well within the domestic Japanese market…not so much here!
The 2015 model is packing new front and rear bumpers as well as fresh side skirts. Oh and that huge wing…apparently it created ‘too much’ downforce so it has been binned in favour of a slightly deeper more traditional looking affair.
These two pictured here were the very first 2015 cars into the country. So naturally we took them around Rockingham for a spin!
Its impossible to tell how the suspension has been tweaked on such a silky smooth surface, but what we can comment on are the newly installed Recaro seats.
We moaned how the current gen 370Z NISMO seats were very lacking. You don’t sit in them and instantly feel you are in a sporty car, they are pretty awful to be fair for a car of this nature.
Luckily that has been changed 100%. As soon as you sit in these new red and black trimmed Recaro jobbies you are firmly held in place. Throwing the 370 around some corners at normally illegal speeds we can attest to their holding ability!
Naturally we can’t wait to get our mitts on one for a longer drive!
