Porsche’s hybrid sports car the 918 Spyder has set a new record for a global road legal homologated vehicle.
Its time was 6 minutes 57 seconds, driving at an average speed of 111 MPH.
Three drivers went round the ring – former European Rally Champion Walter Röhrl, Porsche test driver Timo Kluck and Porsche factory race driver Marc Lieb – all were quicker than the existing record with each lap
