Peugeot have unveiled a new concept car, the EXALT.
Taking off where the Onyx concept left, the EXALT has sharp, low lines. It sits in bare steel, all hand beaten.
It is covered in a material called Shark Skin, a bio mimicry that helps reduce fuel consumption. This helps give the EXALT a SCx value of 0.6.
Under the bonnet is the 1.6 litre Peugeot Sport THP engine (the same found in the RCZ R), this is coupled with a 50 kW electric machine for electric or hybrid uses. Peugeot have linked this to its HYbrid 4 tech.
Inside the touchpoints are coated with warm wood, whilst bare steel covers most of the interior. 3D printing is used to hide the stereo’s speakers.
The bucket seats made of composite material incorporate seat squabs and backrest in natural wool-based ‘chiné’ mixed fabric with the side areas in aged leather.
Lets hope Peugeot have the balls to start making cars like this, as their sister brand have started doing already!
