McLaren’s Special Operations division have been hard at work on the new 650S.
The project was to showcase the MSO design and engineering upgrades available for the 650S, however many of the parts can also be fitted to the 12C which the 650S is based on.
Covered in a Agrigan Black paint which features a deep ruby red metallic flake, this 650S has satin finished carbon fibre headlights, front splitter, air intakes, side blades and rear diffuser.
Those new extended side blades help optimise the aerodynamic efficiency. Whilst at the rear the GT3 inspired bumper has a central carbon fibre section, as well as a carbon air brake.
On the inside you will find more carbon fibre, this time in the form of the racing seats – based on the ones found in the P1. This give a weight saving of 15KG. Gloss black switchgear contrasts with yet more satin finished carbon trim.
The MSO 650S Coupe Concept is presented as a one-off design study, and MSO is monitoring reaction regarding any potential production examples.
The MSO side blades and rear diffuser are available to order now from McLaren retailers, priced at £5,114 and £7,245 respectively for a new 650S. These styling upgrades can also be fitted to the 12C.
