Wash the Car

Replace the Air Filter

Regularly check your fluid levels and look for any signs of leaks or top up if needed. This will include the brake-fluid level, engine coolant, power steering fluid and the windshield washer fluid.
Exhaust Inspection
From time to time you should get underneath the vehicle to check the exhaust system (or take it into the garage to do this). Carefully look for any signs of rust and tighten any loose clamps.
Look at the Brakes
You may feel better taking the vehicle into the garage to check your brakes, but it is also possible to replace the brake pads yourself if you are looking to save money.
As such a vital part of the vehicle, the brakes should be looked at at least twice a year and more if you spend a lot of time on the roads.
