Audi has announced that it’s going to expand production with two new Q models.

First is the Audi Q8 which will be a premium SUV but with coupe styling. Audi say that the Q8 will combine spaciousness with design and will offer the latest technologies in assistance and infotainment systems. Audi will start production of the model in Bratislava in Slovakia from 2018.

The current Audi Q7 has been produced at the Slovakian plant since 2005.

2019 will be when production of the Audi Q4 will start at Audi Hungaria in Győr.

The Q4 is Audi’s first try at the compact utility vehicles (CUVs) segment. The car will also have a coupe shape and sit in-between the Audi Q3 and Q5.

Production of the current Audi Q3 compact SUV will move from Martorell, Spain to Audi Hungaria in 2018.

“We will integrate two completely new Q‑models into the existing production network and will thus increase our competitiveness in an extremely important segment,” said Audi’s Board of Management Member for Production and Logistics, Prof. Dr. Hubert Waltl.
