Behold the Swedish Ice Scraper.
A solid piece of 6mm recycled acrylic, its edges are laser cut and diamond polished.
There are two blades, the angled one and another flat edge that sits beneath a little neoprene cover.
What’s it like to use?
Because it’s just one sheet of acrylic, there’s no risk of bending, snapping, chipping or the thing just falling apart over years of use. As with most things, simple is best.
The Swedish Ice Scraper easily cuts through the thickest of frost that -4 can deliver, two days’ worth when I first tested it out.
There’s a small cut out to clean frost and ice off your wiper blades, which is handy if you’ve got a build-up on the blades that has frozen hard.
The shape makes it easy to grip with one hand, whether righty or lefty. Put your index and middle finger through the hole cut out and your thumb underneath the neoprene cover. It gives you a solid grip to push down onto the glass.
You can also use two hands which is handy if you’re all gloved up and cosy.
Oh, and if the frost is particularly thick, don’t forget the second, flat blade underneath the cover. Unfortunately, you can’t put the cover on the opposite blade while doing this.

They’re available across the interweb of wonder for various prices, but Amazon always has them in stock in at least a few colours for around £13.99 or £17.99 for the version with the protective sleeve.
It’s available in five colours, Yellow, Black, Red, Blue (more whitey blue than blue) and transparent. You can also opt for them with or without a larger neoprene sleeve to cover the blade when not in use.
