Skoda Octavia vRS 245 Set for Geneva Premiere

The most powerful Skoda Octavia vRS is set to have its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

The Octavia vRS 245 produces 245 PS as its name suggests – 15 PS more than the previous model. It has a 0 to 62 mph time of just 6.6 seconds (6.7 seconds for the estate) and has a limited top speed of 155 mph.

Its exterior gets a redesigned front bumper with a wider radiator grille and the enlarged honeycomb air inlets. There’s gloss black features which include the radiator grille, mirror housings, the trapezoid tailpipes and the vRS logo is finished in a gloss-black ‘V’.

Other sporty details are a rear spoiler and the “husky sound” from its exhaust system. 

Inside is mostly finished in black. The seats are made from Alcantara and feature the vRS logo. The multi functional sports steering wheel is finished in perforated leather and has integrated steering wheel paddles, if a DSG model.

The Octavia vRS 245 comes with a four-cylinder TSI petrol engine that produces a maximum torque of 370 Nm. It’ll come with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed dual-clutch DSG.

Compared to the standard Octavia, the vRS 245 sits 14 mm lower and its rear track is 38 mm wider. VAQ limited-slip differential is standard and is a electronic inter-wheel lock for the differential on the driving wheels and helps acceleration when exiting corners.

There’s a range of assistance systems including Trailer Assist, Predictive Pedestrian Protection, Front Assist, Blind Spot Detect, Rear Traffic Alert, Manoeuvre Assist and Crew Protect Assist.

Octavia vRS 245 also gets a 9.2-inch infotainment display with navigation. Wifi hotspot is optional with the LTE module that can provide fast data.
