Ford help boost performance with mind training – SPONSORED

Early last month Ford teamed up with Kings College London to see what makes racing drivers a different breed to the rest of us.

With the help of a VR headset and an EEG (electroencephalogram) rubbery head piece, the college worked with tech company Unit9 to brain scan Sébastien Ogier and triple WTC Championship winner Andy Priaulx.

They were looking for certain electrical activity, and it turns out that racing drivers are 40% better at ignoring distractions than muggles…aka normal folk.
But, this isn’t something special. With some basic mental exercises anyone can become laser focussed behind the wheel.

In fact after these exercises concentration went up by a massive 50%. Far surpassing that of their pro driving counterparts.

Ford say they are now developing a racing helmet with a built in EEG, to further this research.

Partial results from the study so far can be found here.
