This is the 201 mph Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster, the fastest drop-top Gaydon has ever produced.
Also taking the title of most powerful convertible they’ve ever made the S Roadster will replace the standard roofless Vantage when it arrives later this year.
A bit of fettling by Aston’s boffins saw the 6.0 litre V12 given a boost to 565 bhp for the S, with its 457 lb ft of torque pushing the Roadster to 62 mph in just 4.1 seconds.
That increase in performance has been achieved with a brand new engine management system from German giants Bosch and a new seven-speed auto ‘Sportshift III’ ‘box, replacing the old 6-speed manual.
The gearbox alone shaves 20kg off the old Roadster, a new transaxle and dampers should ensure the Roadster is mighty through the twisty stuff.
This all combines to cut .4 of a second of the race to 62 and boosting the S up to that monster top speed, 11 mph up from the outgoing Roadster.
But just in case that doesn’t seem enough, Aston have fitted a brand new stainless steel sports tuned exhaust to remind you of the power lurking underneath.
As with the Coupe, the Roadster loses the standard aluminium grille, replacing the metal with carbon fibre, which can be fitted either in black or silver and of course those angry cooling ducts slashed out of the bonnet that arrived with that sonorous V12 motor.
If you still need more a lengthy options list will include lightweight 10 spoke alloys, interior carbon details and outside decals, if that’s your thing…
No price or release date confirmation yet, but since the Coupe S was £3,000 more than the standard V12, expect an increase in line with that.
