Ever wondered how car manufacturers rise and fall in popularity in the UK and what this would look like visually? The team at Honchō has created the answer to exactly that in the form of one of these funky little bar chart race graphs.
The automotive search marketing agency has pulled together this timeline video from third party data* looking at UK new car sales over the last eight years, and here’s how the top brands fare…
Lots of interesting movements over the last eight years! Most notably it is the German car manufacturers that have climbed and taken higher places in 2018; with Mercedes-Benz overtaking both BMW and Audi.
Ford has maintained the top position throughout the last decade, and Land Rover has been a steady grower; starting from the bottom in 2010 and rising up to 12th by 2018; watch this space!
The Honchō team wanted to look at the rise and falls to see how these brands are holding rank, what the customers’ favourites are, and who the manufacturers to watch in coming months and years are.
How do you think this will change in the coming year? Are there any drops or rises that shock you in the video? Let us know! Join in the conversation with us on Twitter.
