Range Rover announce Ember Special Edition

20 Apr , 2016

Red and black seem to be a favourite combo for most manufacturers at some point, the latest to join the gang is Range Rover with the Ember special edition models.

You get HSE Dynamic spec with a Firenze red roof, and Santorini Black bodywork contrasting red front and rear skid plates complete the look. You also get black ‘EVOQUE’ rear badges with a silver surround, and a blacked out ‘RANGE ROVER’ front badge.

The black theme continues with the Black Pack as standard fit, giving you 20 inch black alloys, black exhaust finisher, black grille and darkened front and rear lights.

Inside you get black leather with red Pimento stitching along with black and red premium car mats and gloss black trim on the dash.

This latest model also heralds the arrival of a new 10.2 inch tablet style touch screen dubbed Touch Pro.
It includes pinch to zoom and a 21:9 super wide format with a pixel ration of 1280×542, so not exactly HD but it is an 80% increase over the old 8″ version.

Land Rover have also launched a Route Planner smartphone app so that destinations can be pre planned and synced to the car. It will also give you door to door navigation once you have parked up, so will give you pedestrian directions or public transport links – clever.

The Evoque’s off road abilities are often questioned, but a new Low Traction Launch feature has been added:

This new feature is a manually selectable driver mode that aims to deliver the optimum pull-a-way/launch on a low friction surface or terrain. It controls the amount of torque that the driver can apply, thus preventing wheel spin and maximising the potential driving force that can be achieved given the conditions.

SE Tech trim levels sees a spec improvement bump to now include – 12-way powered seats and Automatic High Beam Assist with pricing starting at £33,000.

HSE Dynamic has also been given an upgrade to include – InControl Touch Pro with 10.2 inch screen, InControl Connect including wifi, InControl Apps and Remote, and All Terrain Progress Control (Automatic only) with pricing starting from £41,400.
