Mazda have announced pricing and spec for the Mazda RF (Retractable Fastback).
Production has already started and the new Mazda MX-5 RF and is set to go on sale in the UK in March 2017. Mazda are aiming the first cars to hit UK and Europe shortly afterwards.
The MX-5 RF has the same length, width and wheelbase as the MX-5 convertible but the height is increased by 5mm.
They will be six models but the range topper will be the Launch Edition. The 500 run Launch Edition will come with a 2.0 litre SKYACTIV-G engine which produces 160ps, twin-tone roof, BBS wheels, black door mirrors and black rear spoiler.
Inside sees Alcantara trim and Recaro seats. Soul Red or Machine Grey metallic paint will come as standard with the Launch Edition along with a Safety Pack.
As standard, all MX-5 RF come with a 2.0-litre 160ps engine, limited slip diff and 17-inch wheels.
Sport Nav models and the Launch Edition come with Bilstein dampers and strut brace. The Sport Nav Auto will be first MX-5 of the current generation to come with automatic gearbox in the UK.
The Mazda MX-5 RF aims to provide more comfort and a refined ride with its hardtop roof but still retaining the agility and engagement of the MX-5 convertible.
In base spec the Mazda MX-5 RF 1.5 131ps SE-L Nav will start from £22,195. The 2.0 160ps SE-L Nav will be from £23,095 and the range topping 2.0 160ps Launch Edition will be from £28,995.
