Nissan have revealed a raft of new updates for the second generation LEAF.
The main points:
- No external design changes have been made
- Increased range from 109 to 124 miles
- New powertrain assembly
- Improved luggage space
- Charger re housed under the bonnet
- New heat pump reduces electrical consumption in cold weather
- Optional 6.6Kw charger reduces charge time from 8 hours to 4 on a 32 Amp supply
- Chassis re-engineered for European market
- Three trim levels: Visia, Acenta and Tekna
- Batteries to start production at Sunderland plant in spring
- LEAF has enjoyed a 93% satisfaction rating among owners
- Improvements have been engineered in part to listening to owners forums
- New model will go on sale toward the middle of 2013
