12 Sep , 2017

Ford has revealed a new Mustang for Europe featuring new design, tweaked engine and greater driver assistance tech.

The new Mustang has a new sleeker design but still has the recognisable ‘Mustang’ look.

Headlights, daytime running lights, indicators and the 3D tri-bar taillights now all come with LED technology as standard, with LED fog lights available as an option.

A choice of 11 bold exterior colours are available with Kona Blue, Orange Fury and Royal Crimson being new additions. Mustang will also come with new 19” forged alloys available in multiple finishes including Nickel, Ebony Black and Polished Aluminium.

Interior of the new Mustang is more premium with the use of soft touch materials used on the door linings and centre console with the latter finished with contrast stitching.

Leather-trimmed, heated and cooled seats along with a heated steering wheel are also offered for the first time. Right-hand drive cars can be spec’d with leather Recaro racing seats.

The new Mustang will come with a tweaked 5.0‑litre V8 engine that provides 450PS and there’s a 2.3-litre EcoBoost that produces 290 PS. Both engines will be combined with a new 10‑speed automatic gearbox.

Ford’s new Mustang will come with MagneRide adjustable suspension and selectable Drive Modes that features a customisable My Mode option.

There’s also a new Active Valve Performance Exhaust with the ‘Good Neighbour Mode’ allowing quieter running for early morning starts for instance.

Mustang comes with a range driver assistance including Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection and Lane Keeping Aid

All this will be accessible on the new customisable 12” LCD instrument cluster.

Deliveries of the new Ford Mustang will start in 2018.
