Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations has revealed the XE SV Project 8: the most powerful Jaguar road car ever.
XE SV Project 8 is the second car created for the Collector’s Edition by SVO. Only 300 will be built.
The car comes with a highly tuned 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 petrol engine that pumps out 600PS. Top speed is 200mph and 0-60mph is done in 3.3 seconds.
There’s a lot of weight reduction body panels including vented carbon fibre bonnet, carbon fibre bumpers, 20” forged aluminium alloys, rear diffuser and adjustable rear aerodynamic wing. All this make the Project 8 the lightest saloon in Jaguar’s range.
Inside also gets carbon fibre treatment with the trim. Alcantara covers the instrument binnacle, door cards and steering wheel.
The 8 speed Quickshift gearbox can be used either by aluminium paddle shifters or a central Pistolshift lever .
They will be a dedicated Track Mode for the Project 8 which improves the throttle and steering responsiveness.
Project 8 will come in two specifications when launched: a standard four-seat model or a two-seat “Track Pack”.
SVO’s raison d’être is to produce halo vehicles that push the boundaries in terms of luxury, performance and all-terrain capability.
Project 8 is a great example of what happens when enthusiastic designers, engineers and manufacturing specialists are given the opportunity to create an extreme performance sports car without compromise.
Project 8 will be assembled by hand in the new SVO Technical Centre, and we’re confident that our enthusiastic and demanding clients will love driving Project 8 as much we do!
said John Edwards, Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations Managing Director.
We have really been able to unleash the potential of our engineering and design teams in specifying Project 8.
We are at the beginning of a very challenging and exciting development programme which will see us focus on ensuring Project 8 delivers track performance on a level previously not targeted by Jaguar.
The SVO team is full of performance car enthusiasts that are now briefed to deliver motorsport science and soul in what is effectively a four-door supercar,
said Mark Stanton, SVO Director.
Project 8 buyers will be able to personalise by choosing further colours and finishes from the SVO Premium Palette range along with decal packs.
The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 will have it’s debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and will tackle the Goodwood Hill on 30th June.
