12 May , 2017

BMW have released details and prices on the new 4 Series range.

The ‘new’ 4 Series comes with tweaked styling, new interior features and updated chassis.

That tweaked styling sees larger air intakes and LED headlights and rear lights offered as standard. The rear of the car has a more sporty look with broad wheel arches and the redesigned rear lights help towards this.

All models of the 4 Series have a lower centre of gravity due to a wider track along with improved traction control and revised stiffer suspension which improve the ride and handling.

There’s a greater choice of 18 and 19-inch alloys exclusive to the new 4 Series. Exclusive paint colours have been added which are Snapper Rocks Blue and Sunset Orange.

The interior sees majority of the updates with details like the air vents surrounds and the control panels in the doors now come with electroplated inserts. The air con and audio controls are bordered in chrome. The centre console will be finished in a high-gloss black cover panel and there’s double stitching for the dashboard over the instrument panel a leather sports steering wheel.

Night Blue Dakota, Cognac Dakota and Ivory White Dakota leather have been added to the upholstery range and come with contrast stitching. Aluminium Carbon with Pearl Chrome highlight and Black High-Gloss with Pearl Chrome highlight have been added to the trim.

BMW have also updated the navigation system, telephone connectivity, display and controls in the new 4 Series.

They will be a choice of three petrol engines: 420i with 184hp, 430i with 252hp and the range topping 440i with 326hp. There’s also three diesel engines: 420d with 190hp, 430d with 258hp and the 435d xDrive with 313hp.

The M4 has seen updates and will come with a six-cylinder engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology. The engine will produce 431hp but still manages 32.1mpg.

Top speed for the Coupe and Convertible is limited to 155mph and 0 to 60mph time for the Coupe is 4.3 seconds. Competition package can still be added which bumps the power to 450hp.

Prices will start from £32,580 for the 420i Coupe and £58,365 for the M4 Coupe.
