Details Revealed on Facelift Ford Kuga

25 Oct , 2016

Ford have revealed the details of the new Ford Kuga due later this year.

The exterior sees a new look but shares similarities with the EcoSport and the new Edge. The front sees a large upper trapezoidal grille with a new headlight design with LED daytime running lights.

There’s a smaller lower grille which have fog lamps either side. The tail lights also see a sporty new look.

The new Kuga will be offered with a range of 17, 18 and 19” alloys. There’s also a power-operated retractable tow bar which automatically stores itself out of sight below the rear bumper when not in use, to help with the looks department.

Inside the new Kuga is more stylish, ergonomic and comfortable compared to the previous model.

The Kuga will also come with ST Line and Vignale trim levels.

Ford have made effort to reduce the amount of buttons and switches. The electronic parking brake makes way for improved storage in a centre console and a new USB point.

The new Kuga will come with Ford’s new SYNC 3 connectivity system which allows driver to tell the car “I need petrol” and “I need to park” and find the nearest petrol station and place to park.

It’s based on a 8“ touchscreen which can support pinch and swipe gestures. The system also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The new Kuga comes with a range of safety and parking systems. Perpendicular and parallel parking is available at the push of a button. The Kuga will also come with Ford’s Active City Stop collision avoidance system which can operate up to 31 mph.

Owners will be able to programme a key with MyKey which is basically parental controls for younger drivers. It can restrict top speed, stop deactivation of driver assistance and safety systems, lower the stereo’s maximum volume or disable it altogether and even limit phone calls.

The Kuga will come with a new 1.5-litre diesel engine which produces 120PS but is more economical. The 120PS and 150PS petrol and diesel engines will be FWD only with the 2.0 litre 180PS diesel and 1.5-litre 182PS petrol models will come with Ford’s intelligent AWD.
