The Rolls Royce 103EX has made its US debut in Santa Monica.
Even though it’s a roller, the 103EX is a part of BMW’s Vision 100 concept which was announced earlier on this year for its centenary celebrations.
The 103EX is an autonomous car which is driven by the ‘Voice of Eleanor’. ‘Eleanor’ is a virtual assistant and chauffeur and safely drives passengers to their destination and even predicts the situation and surroundings.
Inside is named the ‘Grand Sanctuary’ and features the most high quality of materials. The interior even features a sofa and this helps passengers to feel like they’re floating and also in a cocoon.
Measuring in at 5.9 metres long and 1.6 metres high it’s the same dimensions of the current Phantom Extended Wheelbase.
Even though completely futuristic in its looks, the 103EX has a iconic Pantheon grille with the red Double-R badge. The exterior design also helps to reduce air resistance.
Giles Taylor, Director of Design, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said:
“With the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 we were mindful not to dwell on the past. We wanted to be as innovative as possible and at the same time transcend the design history of the marque.”
