Mercedes have unveiled a new concept car with sub-brand Maybach called the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6.
There’s some meaning in the name as the car’s stunning smooth body stretches nearly 6 meters.
The exterior features a bold radiator grille which was inspired by a pinstriped suit. The radiator grille sees two feature lines flow down the entire length of the coupe to the rear of the car. Here the rear looks almost boat-like and the narrow tail lights to highlight how wide the car is.
The exterior also sees gullwing doors, a famous Mercedes design touch along with 24-inch wheels which are a development of the aero rim from the Concept Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile.
Inside sees a design that’s very lounge like. There’s a vast amount of high quality materials such as rose gold which are used to create accents, leather trim on the seats and polished elm on the floor. All displays are digital with a transparent display on the windshield. The car can be switched onto full autonomous mode for driver and passengers to relax.
This 2+2 coupe has been designed as an electric car. The drive system has an output of 550 kW (750 hp). The shallow underfloor battery allows a range of over 500 kilometres. There’s also a quick-charge function which can see 100 kilometres of range with a 5 minute charge.
The concept is set to make its debut at Monterey Car Week between 16th and 21st August and will be at Pebble Beach on the final date.
