MINI have announced a more track focused JCW edition based loosely on the Challenge race car.
You get the same power of 231 hp and a 153 MPH top speed…but…
Now you get Nitron coilover adjustable dampers, you can muck about with the rebound, bump and ride height. You also get camber adjustment on the front axle, interesting.
Another new addition is an automatic torque biasing limited slip diff from Quaife, which replaces the standard cars open version.
As for the tyres, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2’s have been shod, with the tyres being 0.5 inches wider than the originals, they sit on Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 rims which save 1.5 KG of unsprung mass at each corner. This increases to 2.5 KG per corner when you take into account the tyres.
Braking is handled by the already optionable four pot Brembo calipers from the JCW Pro Accessories range which have been developed especially with Mintex pads.
Only 100 will be built and you can only have them in White Silver paintwork with black roof and mirrors.
No changes to standard spec is available, you gets what you get…at £32,000.
A bit more weight saving and the omission of rear seats would have been welcome additions.
