And the Bentley Continental continues!
It may be getting VERY long in the tooth but the GT is still with us. For 2016 it receives a modest power bump from 635 PS to 642, and an extra 20 Nm of torque from its ludicrous 6.0 litre twin ‘turb W12 power plant.
The extra grunt has been gained through re optimisation of boost control across the rev range, the 0-60 has now dropped to 3.9 seconds.
To mark the occasion Bentley have also adopted the now rather common “Black Edition” to its family line up.
The GT Speed “Black Edition” is available as a coupe and drop top with all of the chrome fancy bits being finishes in gloss black, you also get a set of 21″ five spoke alloy wheels with brake calipers finished in either red or black.
Even more footballer are the trim accents that can be specced in four different shades: Hallmark, Beluga, St James’ Red and a new shade, Cyber Yellow. You can also have the door mirrors colour coded if you so wish.
Inside you get carbon fibre trim on the dash and contrasting leather which can be matched to the new exterior tones.
Paul Jones, Product Line Director for Continental GT, comments:
We have developed the GT Speed Black Edition to meet demand from customers for a model in the Continental line that offers both increased sporting capabilities and instantly recognisable styling cues. The Black Edition has a subtle but purposeful look that is backed up by exceptional performance.
