Looking for the ideal company car to present your business? Or do you just want a stylish and spacious estate for personal use? Whatever you’re going for, the BMW 5 Series Touring.
is an exceptional estate car, which would be a perfect business or personal car leasing choice. BMW have an exemplary range of cars in the 5 Series, but the Touring is the perfect vehicle if you’re looking for aesthetics, comfort and power.
None of the engines in the Touring are lacking power, even the entry level 2.0 litre diesel produces 148bhp, and the 520d produces 188bhp. However, the handling and suspension of the Touring aren’t as good as they could be.
But if you add the Variable Damper Control and Adaptive Drive, you can transform the car, making it much easier to handle and a much comfier drive. Although they may not be cheap to add, they’re definitely worth it.
One of the great things about the Touring is that you’ll never be lacking in space. There’s plenty of room, whether you’re carting around luggage, or picking up colleagues from work. The boot is a huge 560 litres, so you won’t be struggling for space any time soon. And if you’re in need of even more space than that, you can get a colossal 1670 litres if you fold the rear seats down.
When it comes to the Touring’s interior, you’ll be hard-pressed to find another car brand with such incredible attention to detail and high quality finish.
Each model of the 5 Series Touring comes with decent standard equipment too, including climate control, steering-wheel mounted controls, and electric windows. Along with these, there is a never ending list of optional extras, including a cool heads-up display that projects information directly onto your windscreen.
Another great feature of the Touring is the iDrive system. Once you get used to it, it’s incredibly easy to use, and a lot easier than many other touch screens. iDrive allows you to control the car’s functions with a rotary controller, which can then be viewed on the central widescreen mirror. Pretty neat!
Overall, the 5 Series Touring is incredibly good value for money, considering what’s included, and this is reflected in its high resale values.
The running costs of the Touring are relatively cheap too, and if you’re not ready to buy the Touring outright, then cheap car leasing is always a good second option.
So this spacious estate is definitely worth considering if you’re looking for an executive car with a slick image, tonnes of space, and a great level of gadgets.
It’s just a shame that you have to add a couple of pricey extras to make the ride smoother. Other than that, the Touring is a fantastic car from the 5 Series range.
