The fourth-generation KIA Optima is set to be officially unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt International Motor Show.
Euro-spec KIA Optima, which will go on sale later this year, features a more modern exterior, a refined new interior with higher quality materials along with more space for occupants. The interior will also include wireless phone charging for capable mobiles.
The new model will have improved ride, handling and refinement over the outgoing model.
The body of the new Kia Optima is 50% stiffer due to use of ultra-high tensile steel and this has also made thee body 8.6 kg lighter.
Engine options for the new Optima are a updated 1.7 litre diesel, a 2.0 litre petrol and a 2.0 litre four-cylinder petrol engine. The 1.7 litre diesel is available with a six-speed manual transmission but the new Optima comes with a new 7-speed DCT transmission.
The new DCT transmission features faster gear changes which help bring down the CO2 emissions to 116 g/km, a 40 g/km improvement over the previous Optima.
