The Summer is finally here and, as a result some of the series are heading into their much deserved Summer breaks but there is still plenty on offer for the month of July.
We start at Silverstone for the Silverstone Classic and what better way to end the month than a trip to the home of British motorsports? With plenty of family friendly activities (many of them for free) music concerts, static displays, a funfair and many trade stands what more could you ask for? Well, the racing!
Pretty much every type of 4 wheeled motorsport is covered, Sports cars, Saloon cars, GT, Group C monsters, F1 from various eras and the 90s BTCC beasts competing in Historic Super Touring Car races on the Saturday and Sunday. We previewed the event here earlier in the year and also briefly covered last year’s event here.
The Silverstone Classic takes place on the weekend of the 24th, 25th and 26th of July. Carwitter will be in attendance, say hi if you see us alternatively if you cannot get to Silverstone catch highlights on ITV4.
Endurance fans will have plenty to catch this month with the European Le Mans Series calling at the Red Bull Ring, Austria on the weekend of the 11th and 12th while later the same day the TUSSC will be in action at Mosport Park, Canada before heading to Lime Rock on the 24th & 25th. Motors TV will keep you entertained.
Prototype racing aside there is another big enduro this month as the Blancpain Endurance series makes its way to Spa Francorchamps for the annual 24 hour race also on the weekend of the 25th & 26th while the Sprint series heads to Moscow, Russia from the 3rd to 5th.
BT Sport and Motors have the coverage here while the 24hr should be streamable if last year is anything to go by.
Staying with GTs for the moment the British GT series makes its annual trip to Belgium and Spa on the weekend of the 10th & 11th while for those craving more supercar action the GT Open championship is at the Red Bull Ring from the 4th-5th. Motors TV again keep you covered.
Those who prefer their thrills with two fewer wheels again are well catered for as the British Superbikes heads to the Grand Prix loop at Brands Hatch on the 17th, 18th & 19th while the World championship continues at Laguna Seca on the same weekend.
A busy day in front of Eurosport for those not attending the circuit! The Moto GP crews head to the Sachsenring in Germany a week earlier on the weekend of the 12th. BT Sport will bring you this with ITV4 highlights a day later.
