Amlin Aguri’s Antonio Felix Da Costa became the fourth different winner in as many Formula E races after a chaotic ePrix in Buenos Aries.

The race started with Buemi on pole with Jaime Alguersuari and Nick Heidfeld in 2nd and 3rd respectively. It was the German who got the better start taking up one spot by the 2nd lap.

It was a fairly quiet race until it was time for the pit stops. Karun Chandhok brought the safety car out due to broken suspension but this created masses of confusion to who was where.

A group of cars led by Buemi found themselves in front of the safety car after their pit stops with a second group led by Alguersuari behind the safety car. It took a number of laps to work out that the group led by Alguersuari needed to make up the laps they were actually behind on.

During the restart, Di Grassi inherited the lead after Buemi crashed but he then suffered a suspension failure himself.

Nick Heidfeld, Sam Bird and Antonio Felix Da Costa made up the new top three but Heidfeld and Bird were given drive-through penalties due to Heidfeld speeding in the pit lane and Bird exiting the pits when the pit exit was closed.

A tense battle broke out for fourth position. Jean-Eric Vergne pushed Alguersuari out of the way and then the Spaniard got taken out by Daniel Abt who seemed too involved in overtaking Nicolas Prost who was behind Alguersuari.

Antonio Felix Da Costa was able to keep ahead of the field to take his first Formula E win and to become the fourth different winner in four races.

Prost finished 2nd with a surprised Nelson Piquet Jr in 3rd as he thought he was one lap behind.

It was later found out that Salvador Duran had exceeded the maximum energy use and has now been excluded from the final result. Nelson Piquet has a 5-place grid penalty for the next race for speeding during yellow flags and Jarno Trulli will have a 10-place grid penalty due to a gearbox change.

The Formula E action is now on a 2-month break and will resume in Miami on the 14th March.
