Ford have finally had the European debut of the all new Mondeo.
Taking queues from the Vignale concept up front it looks butch and menacing, but apart from that new front end and an ever slightly more sloping C pillar you would be hard pressed to tell them apart from the current gen Mondeo.
Ford have added new fancy integral rear suspension to aid ride comfort and lessen interior noise. All this whilst reducing the overall weight by 25 KG, not bad!
New technologies on board include Ford’s first adaptive LED headlamps in Europe, Active Park Assist – for perpendicular parking, and the new SYNC 2 voice control system with an 8 inch touchscreen.
Wind noise has also been reduced to levels only seen on premium segments by changing the window pillar and door mirror shape. Interior loudness has been reduced by 8% over the outgoing model.
Engine wise you can choose from the 2.0 litre petrol coupled with a hybrid electric, this achieves 99g/km of CO2. It also delivers 187 PS and up to 67.3 MPG.
You can also opt for the non hybrid 1.0 litre Ecoboost that pumps out only 119g/KM of emissions and has a mighty 125 PS.
Want more power? THen there will be a 1.5 litre Ecoboost pushing out 160PS.
Diesel loves aren’t left in the dark, you can also opt for a 1.5 TDCi with 94g/km or opt for the beefier 2.0 litre TDCi engine which produces 210 PS with a twin scroll turbo setup.
No word on pricing or release dates as of yet.
