Toyota have announced that the highly acclaimed GT86 is now a FIA R3 class rally car!
To give it its full name the GT86 CS-R3 will make its debut at the Rallye Deutschland next month. It has been created by Toyota Motorsport and will be used as the ‘pathfinder’ car that is sent through the stage ahead of the racers.
The ECU has been remapped, newer cams installed and compression ratio tweaked meaning the 2.0 litre boxer now puts out between 240 and 250 BHP.
It has also been fitted with a 6 speed sequential gearbox, a limited slip diff and a weight optimised safety cage.
If you want one you will have to wait until the first quarter of 2015 to take delivery of one in kit form…no word on pricing.
