It has been spied around the roundabouts of Gaydon, but today Aston Martin have officially announced what we all knew anyway…a new Lagonda saloon is going into production on a limited run basis.
The whole design is an updated, more modern version of the William Towns designed Lagonda of the 1970’s.
It will be built in the same building used to create the One 77 hypercar. Based on the VH vehicle platform the new Lagonda will feature carbon fibre body panels as well as the latest manufacturing processes.
Sales of the car will be by invite only, naturally. No pricing has been given yet, but expect it to be extortionate to reflect its exclusivity.
Aston Martin Design Director Marek Reichman said
The debut of this luxury super saloon in the Middle East market will be an exciting moment not only for Aston Martin, but for discerning customers who are seeking the ultimate in luxury and personalisation.
The new model, like its exclusive siblings the One-77 and V12 Zagato, has been created as a piece of exceptional automotive art. It has been designed and developed entirely in keeping with the spirit and ethos of previous Lagonda super saloons – notably the William Towns Lagonda – and as a tribute to this car it proudly bears the Lagonda nameplate.
