Caterham have announced a limited edition Caterham Seven specially designed by Japanese race driver Kamui Kobayashi.
It is based on the 125 BHP Seven 250 R, but with numerous performance upgrades.
Powered by the 1.6 litre Ford Sigma engine, it gets from 0-62 in 5.9 seconds. It is fitted with a 6 speed manual gearbox and a limited slip diff. Top speed is 122 MPH.
Externally the car is finished in high gloss black paint with matt black racing stripes. Every car has a number 10 badge on its nose, Kamui’s Formula One number. Front and rear wing protectors are finished in carbon fibre infused with Caterham green lacquer, the first of the Seven models to offer this finish.
The limited edition is a single seat and features an aluminium tonneau cover over the passenger side. This is matched with a single sided rollover hoop.
13 inch diamond cut alloys are finished in black, whilst the exhaust pipe is finished in chrome.
Carbon fibre is found on the inside too, the dash is finished with the same carbon green weave. Kamui’s logo is stitched onto the headrest.
Just 10 examples of the Kamui Kobayashi special edition go on sale in Kamui’s home country from today, priced at ¥6,000,000 (including local taxes).
