Audi have released further details and the first images of the all new 2014 Audi TT.
A mash up of R8 and A5 the new TT will start at around £25,000 when it goes on sale later in the year.
At launch there will be three engine variants to choose from:
- 184PS 2.0-litre diesel with 380Nm of torque, 67.2mpg and emissions of just 110g/km.
- 230PS 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine with 370 Nm of torque, 41.5mpg with emissions of 159 g per km. 0-60 is achieved in 6.0 seconds.
- For real blistering pace though you need the Quattro all wheel drive 2.0 TFSI produces 380 Nm of torque, this will get to 60 in just 4.7 seconds. Expect there to be a hefty price tag to match the performance though.
The TTS comes with a manual ‘box but when coupled with the S Tronic you get such luxuries as launch control.
All wheel drive can be changed between two modes Auto and Dynamic, Dynamic modes pushes more power to the rear wheels earlier whereas Auto finds the optimum balance.
One further mode Efficiency can fully decouple the Quattro system if it deems it not necessary.
Thanks to Audi’s use of Aluminium and Steel this new model is 50 KG lighter than its predecessor.
Inside the new TT a 12.3 inch TFT screen is used for the instruments, all of this is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 30 processor.
A voice control system can also interpret natural commands such as ‘ I want to go to London’ for ultimate hands free control.
The menu structure of the cars functions have also been redeveloped to mimic a smartphone menu, making it more natural for users to navigate.
Its all new dash layout is minimalist and uncluttered, all very Germanic and Audi.
Full UK pricing is to be revealed, deliveries will start in late 2014.
