After much teasing, and a fair few more pictures/videos of camo’d cars then we would like, Jaguar have officially unveiled the F-Type Coupe, and boy is it a beaut!
It will actually be cheaper than the drop top counterpart, starting at £51,235 for the V6 model. It was rumoured that it would cost more due to the masses of extra development work that was needed to make this car happen. But its actually around £7k less than the convertible.
Jag have also unveiled the F-Type Coupe R, this will house the 5.0 litre supercharged V8 behemoth. In total the R will make 542 BHP with 680 Nm of torque. 0-60 will arrive in just 4.0 seconds, whilst top speed is limited to 186 MPH!
Jaguar have said the F-Type Coupe is the most dynamically capable, performance-focused, production model they have ever made. Its also the most rigid road car they have created.
The all new R model comes with a second generation torque vectoring braking system, a first for Jag. A new electronic limited slip diff also helps to get all that power down onto the road.
A new upgrade has also been added to the line up, Carbon Ceramic brakes, these will reduce the cars overall weight by 21KG and offer better braking on the V6S and V8R models. It will also make a transition onto the convertibles too.
Jeremy Clarkson cant moan at the boot on the F-Type Coupe, you get a whopping 407 litres. That will fit in two sets of golf clubs dont you know! Its also available with a power opening if you like waiting for the boot to open. Another cool feature is the composite construction of the tailgate, the same as the boot lid on the convertible.
The Coupes rear spoiler is hidden just below the boot shut line and raises at 70 MPH, lowering when your speed drops below 50. It helps reduced lift by 120 KG.
It will go on sale Spring 2014.
