Land Rover have today announced its first long wheelbase Range Rover in 20 years. Its propositioned as a unique alternative to a long wheelbase saloon.
Rear seat legroom has been increased by 140mm, and the rear seats can now be reclined up to 17 degrees. The new longer models will carry discrete L badging on the front wings, as well as having powered door blinds and a panoramic roof as standard.
It will debut at the LA Auto Show, with deliveries starting from March 2014.
Along with this announcement a new exclusive long wheelbase trim level has been added, Autobiography Black. Especially created by the ‘Engineered to Order’ team the Autobiography Black has a unique front grille and side vents along with distinguishable badging in black enamel and chrome. Signature rear lamps and auxiliary vents to the front add to the exclusivity of this vehicle with a chrome accent finish to the tailgate.
Two new alloy wheel designs will be available in 7-spoke 21” and a 22” sizes with a high gloss polished finish, the latter of which will be available from spring 2014.
Unique rear seating features two individual, 18 way fully adjustable, massaging chairs. 10.2 inch rear screens are fitted into the front headrests. A redesigned centre console includes electrically deployable tables covered in black leather with integrated USB charging sockets and cup holders.
A chiller compartment provides additional space for glasses and bottles and increased stowage is available to the rear. The headphone stowage trim can be removed to reveal a ski hatch whilst the entire rear console can be illuminated in harmony with the vehicle’s mood lighting settings.
LED mood lighting will also be configurable with up to 10 colours, highlighting footwells and the like.
Colour combinations at launch will include Ebony/Lunar, Espresso/Tan and Dark Cherry/Ivory, the latter including a unique duo-tone seat. These will be followed by Lunar/Cirrus in spring 2014, when a unique Poltrona Frau seat design in Navy/Ivory also becomes available.
Naturally the Autobiography Black will be launched at the Dubai Motor Show, deliveries will take place in August 2014.
