Alpina have created the fastest ever production Diesel, the new D3 BiTurbo goes from 0-62 in 4.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 173 MPH. The D3 has 350 HP and a whopping 700 Nm of torque!
Over 2 years 50 engineers have worked on every part of the car, from the engine, gearbox, cooling system, body structure, wheels, tyres, aerodynamics, suspension and interior. Aerodynamic enhancements were developed in BMW’s wind tunnel, four outlet exhausts with an ‘intelligent’ acoustic valve have been added, along with classic 19” ALPINA alloy wheels.
The exhaust was developed with Akrapovic, Alpina worked with ZF on the 8 speed gearbox – 20% of the system is bespoke. The D3’s dampers have 4 adjustable settings and the car has a bespoke Brembo braking system. Alpina have even tweaked the DSC system to deliver more power and performance.
Prices start at £46,950 for the Saloon or as a Touring (estate) for £49,950.
