BMW i3 Concept Coupe

Today saw the world premier of the BMW Coupe i3 Concept, it hails premium-class motoring with zero local emissions.

The news in brief:

  • Carbon fibre reinforced plastic body
  • 3,964 millimetres in length, 1,768 wide and 1,555 high
  • 155/60 R20 at the front and 175/55 R20 at the rear
  • Two lounge style individual rear seats
  • World’s first “fully networked electric vehicle”
  • Maximum output 125kW/170hp
  • Torque of 250Nm/184lb-ft
  • Rear wheel drive single speed transmission
  • Lithium-ion storage cells under floor for lower centre of gravity
  • Three driving modes for the ideal mix of driving pleasure and efficiency: COMFORT, ECO PRO and ECO PRO+
  • Range will be 100 miles, ECO PRO+ mode will limit top speed to 56MPH
