At the end of last month a 1.6 litre Diesel BlueHDi Peugeot 208 set an absolute distance record of 1,337 miles using 43 litres of diesel. This works out at 141.2 MPG.
The record was set a the Peugeot test circuit at Belchamp in France. The car used was a ‘Very Low Fuel Consumption’ version that is apparently available through dealerships.
To achieve the amazing record the car is shod with an aerodynamic rear spoiler and ultra low rolling resistance Michelin Energy Saver+ tyres.
This new facelifted 208 goes on sale in the Autumn.
